Choosing the right size is essential for making sure your sewing project turns out exactly as you imagined. Our sewing patterns are thoughtfully designed with comfort, fit, and style in mind, but the key to success is selecting the size that matches your body measurements.
Use this sewing size guide to measure yourself accurately and pick the perfect size for your next project!
How to Measure for Sewing Patterns
Take Your Measurements. To get the most accurate fit, you'll need to take your measurements. Use a soft measuring tape to measure the following:
- Bust: Around the fullest part of your bust, under the arms.
- Waist: At the natural waistline, typically just above the belly button.
- Hip: Around the fullest part of your hips, about 8 inches below your natural waist.
- Bust Point to Waist: From the bust apex to the waistline, for more precise fitting.
- Height: If you are concerned about length, especially for dresses or pants, knowing your height can help with adjustments.
Compare Your Measurements with the Size Chart
Once you've measured yourself, compare your measurements with the size chart provided with each pattern. My patterns include bust, waist, and hip measurements to guide you. If your measurements fall between two sizes, I recommend selecting the larger size for comfort or adjusting the pattern accordingly.

Important Notes on Fit

Loose Fit: Most of my patterns are designed with a relaxed, comfortable fit in mind. If you prefer a looser or more forgiving fit, feel free to select your usual size.

Fitted Styles: For more fitted styles, I recommend going one size down for a more tailored look.

Adjusting Length: If you're shorter or taller than the standard measurements, you may need to adjust the length of your pattern. Consider adding or removing length at the hem or bust for a better fit.

How to Choose Your Size
- Chest/Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest/bust, keeping the tape level under your arms and across your back.
- Waist: Measure around your natural waistline – the narrowest part of your waist.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, keeping the tape level across your seat.
Printing & Assembling
Printing Options Available:
You have 3 printing options available: A4 size, Letter Size & A0 size. You can print our patterns at home if you have a printer or send them to the online/ local printing shop.
- Ensure you print at actual size (100%scale). Select “borderless printing”
- Verify that the print out size is correct by measuring the centimeter scale on any pattern
- Align all pages and tape them together using clear tape and cut out your size. The pattern already includes a 1cm seam allowance
Tip:
You can simply organize your patterns by printing the first page of the booklet and sticking it to A4 envelope. Fold the pattern pieces nicely and store them in the envelopes.
