About us
Welcome
Hi, I’m Karolina, the designer and maker behind tintofmintPATTERNS. Fashion has always been my language of creativity, and I’m endlessly inspired by the process of turning fabric into something meaningful. With a background in Fashion Design and years of hands-on experience, I’ve built tintofmintPATTERNS to encourage makers like you to slow down, sew with purpose, and craft pieces that reflect who you are.
My motto, “Buy less, make more,” is at the heart of everything I do, a reminder that handmade clothes tell a story worth wearing.
The process
Inspiration often finds me in the most unexpected moments: a striking outfit on the street, a beautiful fabric I come across, or even a scene from a favorite movie. Every design begins as a sketch in my notebook, although it rarely ends up looking exactly as I first imagined.
Once the idea starts to take shape, the fabric hunt begins. It can take time, but it is always worth it. I love draping directly on the mannequin with the chosen fabric, refining the silhouette, adjusting details, and imagining how it will move once finished.
Then comes one of my favorite parts, pattern drafting. This is when the design truly comes to life. From there, I move into sampling and testing, the most time-consuming yet rewarding stage of all. When everything feels just right, I film a sew-along video to guide you through every step of the making process.
The final phase is all about precision: digitizing and grading the pattern, illustrating the instruction booklet, and perfecting every small detail. And finally, one of the most exciting moments arrives, photographing the finished garment and capturing the story behind the stitches.
By sharing this process, I hope to give you a glimpse into the care, creativity, and love that go into every tintofmintPATTERNS design.
