Introducing the Charlotte Top Sewing Pattern
I have been keeping this one quietly to myself for a little while, but I am so happy to finally introduce you to my new sewing pattern, the Charlotte Top.
I designed Charlotte last year. It began as one of those ideas that simply would not let go. I wanted a halter style top that felt feminine and versatile, yet simple enough to sew without feeling overwhelming. But some designs need time. I wanted to live with it, wear it, and refine the details until everything felt truly right.
And now, I feel ready to share it with you.

The Design
Charlotte is all about balance. A graceful cross front detail brings a touch of drama, while the soft bow at the back adds sweetness. Clean lines keep the silhouette timeless and easy to wear.
While refining the pattern, there were two details I knew had to be included.
-
A structured front waistband
Interfacing here adds shape and polish, helping the top sit beautifully at the waist. -
A hidden elastic insert at the neckline
A small detail that makes a big difference. It allows the neckline to move with you, making the top comfortable and effortless to wear.
These quiet construction choices matter to me. They are what turn a simple top into something you reach for again and again.

What’s Inside the Pattern
When you download Charlotte, you are not just getting another PDF. You are getting everything I have put into making this pattern approachable, thoughtful, and enjoyable to sew.
-
26 page illustrated instruction booklet
Clear, supportive guidance to sew with confidence. - Pattern files in A4, Letter, and A0 formats.
- A full size range from UK 4–24 / EU 32–52 / US 0–20 / AU 4–24.
- A small gift from me to you: a free scrunchie pattern and a sew along video, perfect for using leftover fabric.
Charlotte requires approximately 1 yard (0.95 m) of fabric. I love it in soft, fluid materials like viscose or crepe, but it also works beautifully in cottons or linen for a more structured look.

Why I Love It
I wanted Charlotte to feel approachable, but never boring. It is beginner friendly to sew, yet it does not look beginner at all. That balance is the magic.
I imagine Charlotte worn casually with denim for everyday, or sewn in something silky and paired with wide leg trousers for evenings out.
A Little Sewing Tip
Take your time with the front cross detail and waistband. The interfacing makes a noticeable difference and gives the top a polished, professional finish. And do not forget the matching scrunchie. It is a lovely way to use leftover fabric.
Finally Sharing Charlotte
It feels so good to finally release this pattern after holding onto it for a year. Giving it time allowed me to refine every detail and make sure it felt just right.
Now I get to pass it on to you, and that is my favourite part of the process. Seeing your versions, in your fabrics, styled your way.
You can find the Charlotte Top sewing pattern here. I hope you will enjoy sewing it as much as I loved creating it.

Charlotte is a pattern that took its time. Designed to be simple to sew, beautiful to wear, and easy to return to again and again.
Happy sewing,
Karolina
